Eddie Milla is a painter, photographer, and graphic designer exploring the male form and modernizing traditional Mexican iconography. He is a San Francisco native conflicted with our gloomy weather and combats the foggy climate with hyper-colorful artwork.

Eddie is known for his bold imagery, notably his “Calavera” series. His post-expressionist style stems from influences like “Beckmann and de Kooning’s figures but also and especially, the Mexican Muralists; Orozco, Siqueiros, Tamayo.”

His creative process is initiated by an event or experience which he photographs and in turn utilizes as his source of inspiration. He creates sketches via pastels and transitions them into a painting. His emotional state dictates his prolificness and he is facing the challenge of channeling negative energies into positive artworks head-on.
