Enrico Gallegos creates bold and colorful paintings both on canvas and jars. He creates shapes that are based in an abstract realm while also embedding defined, representational elements from his lived experiences. He views San Francisco as a place full of vibrant inspiration, from the good to the challenging.

As Gallegos paints, his mental and emotional states seem to wield the paintbrush: “Some of my art is like my mind and my emotions at times, just an amalgamation of feelings and thoughts that lack clarity and that come together in my art giving form to the undefinable and unclear.” Enrico, like so many artists, finds art to be truly therapeutic and, for him specifically, the starting point of why he creates.

His creative state ebbs and flows, “Sometimes I express my feelings of well-being in a painting because that energy of light moves me to express that light on canvas, while at other times I have difficulty painting because I am unable to feel my emotions.” His abstraction his the representation of those harder feelings he cannot capture with representational components.
