Max Marttila is a San Francisco native with a focus on murals and a dedication to the Excelsior Neighborhood. His studio work investigates the relationships between urban rituals, fashion, street trauma, police brutality, digitalism, crime, and local folklore through a mix of portraiture, abstract landscape, and collage.

"I grew up going to middle and high school in Excelsior and have always cherished the neighborhood's character, which has vastly influenced my art."
