Megan Levine (she/her), a Bay Area self-taught artist, seamlessly blends art and mathematics to challenge societal norms. Beginning with papier-mâché after a personal tragedy, she transitioned to 2D collages, presenting a unique mix of queer essence and mathematical precision in her signature Tribadometry series.
Her art, especially the Tribadometry series, stands as a powerful testament against heteronormative misconceptions. By marrying lesbian themes with mathematical intricacies, Megan celebrates tribadism, gender-inclusivity and queer freedom. Her dedication shines through her vibrant hand-painted collages, a technique she has honed since 2016.
Megan's multifaceted identity, encompassing pansexuality, ADHD, and being a lesbian single mother, enriches her artwork. Every aspect of her identity adds depth and context, giving viewers a comprehensive, layered insight.
Away from her art, Megan's studio setup illustrates a heartwarming family story of teamwork. Sharing her space with her two kids, who frequently witness drying paper on floors and an ever-evolving dining table setup. She speaks fondly of her children's understanding, support and appreciation of the 'no throwing anything away' rule.
