Photo-expressionist and urban artist Xan Blood Walker finds creativity anywhere she goes. Xan has lived in the Bay Area for over 30 years, recently diving deeper into her love of graffiti art.
In terms of creative processes, Xan always has her camera with her so that if anything sparks creativity, she will “try to photograph it in a way that recreates and/or heightens the feeling that it created” for her. However, Xan is always pursuing her passion and thinking about “several series” she is working on at the same time.
While Xan’s art deals with urban art and environment, the most important thing Xan wants people to know about her work is that “most of my art is a reflection of the trials and tribulations that I've been in and successfully gone through. I'm trying to visually create a feeling state.” These feelings are prevalent in Xan’s work and the incredible photography shown throughout her urban art pieces.
