ArtSpan invites you to the 50th annual production of San Francisco Open Studios

Since 1975, ArtSpan’s citywide SF Open Studios program has connected local artists to San Francisco’s residents and visitors. Now in its 50th annual production, ArtSpan’s SF Open Studios is a testament to the enduring power of art to bridge communities, and to the unyielding spirit of the artists who have been at the forefront of shaping San Francisco's cultural identity.

Be inspired by the creative power of San Francisco Bay Area artists at ArtSpan’s SF Open Studios (SFOS). For the past five decades, ArtSpan has invited the public to visit the creative spaces of local artists to see where their magic happens and to purchase work directly from creators. In 2024, our beloved annual tradition enters its 50th year of offering residents and tourists the free opportunity to engage directly with the artists responsible for the pivotal role art plays in the identity of San Francisco culture. We are thrilled to share this milestone with art lovers in the SF Bay Area and beyond!

SF Open Studios is FREE to attend.

This year’s historic SFOS production is accompanied by a special exhibition at the
San Francisco Public Library’s Jewett Gallery:
From Disco Days to the Tech Craze: 50 Years of ArtSpan SF Open Studios.

On view through November 17, this archival exhibition invites you to immerse yourself in the rich history of SF Open Studios and its evolution over the past half-century. View the exhibition in the lower level of the library in between or after your open studio visits.
