Gustavo Castillo is a dedicated hyper-realistic artist that captures the beauty of the human form through intense and dramatic drawings. He finds inspiration throughout the Bay Area from murals, to sculptures and everyday life in between.
Many of his compositions are achieved by employing ball point pens. He notes, “ [it is] a [media] not made for art because of its difficulty to [represent] light, shadow, and realistic finishes therefore I believe it should be given the respect and value as it is not common and it is not easy to achieve the hyperrealism that I am gradually getting.”
Gustavo is a budding artist and has had recent opportunities to show his incredible work. He wants to thank Local Love Fest in Oakland and The Drawing Room for exhibiting his drawings.
