Native Californian and Bay Area artist Kimberly Champion is a ‘champion’ of the arts. Working with different mediums such as ink, watercolor pencils/pens, and gouache on paper, Kimberly plays with textures and colors in a way that creates images that reflect memories and peaceful environments.

“Colors, shapes, shading, and line placement form textures and objects from my imagination, creating something identifiable or completely different.” Through this approach, Kimberly aims for her work to reflect her trust of emotion and feelings and that it will resonate with her audience, as it does with herself.

Drawing inspiration from Georgia O’Keefe and Norman Lewis, Kimberly’s work brings joy stemming from personal experiences in addition to beautiful forms of nature.

Kimberly had a recent exhibition at the Art of the African Diaspora at Studios 11 Gallery in Oakland.
