For Nina Fabunmi art is a universal language that exposes social issues, and expresses joys and challenges. She’s been using that language to reflect on the world.
“I find so much beauty in culture and diversity and I want the world to be accepting of all people regardless of your race, preferences, sexual orientation, or other factors which make us different,” says Fabunmi. "Let America be a place where dreams come true.”
On today’s #WetheArtists, Jacqwi Campbell, our curator for this series, found a lot of color and light in Fabumni’s imagery. “I love how Nina draws us in with colorful brightness while portraying hard topics with intimacy and heart,” says Campbell.
Fabumni uses a variety of art as part of her meditative practice. She also writes poetry to express herself. “I use art as a way to unburden, ease my mind, and create a feeling that others can also relate with,” she says.
