Soleé Darrell has been a Bay Area artist for 15 years and considers her work to parallel the evolution of our beautiful environment. Darrell describes her works as “pure energy, always vibrant and symbolic.” Her process of layering and creating pockets of details among planes of line work and color swatches is reminiscent of mid century artists such as Rauschenberg, Stella & Twombly but of course with a contemporary and unique perspective.

Darrell’s goal within her practice is to create portals of unseen secret worlds for viewers to escape to. With intuition guiding her process, she prepares herself at her canvas and captures a representation of that exact moment which can never be imitated. Darrell is a master of elaborating on the authenticity of moments experienced and hopes viewers encounters her work as such.

2022 was a big year for Darrell. She traveled to Tokyo for an art residency and has a solo show at Legion Projects in July.
