Blane began her creative journey moving to San Francisco by way of suburbia Texas with the intention of pursuing Industrial Design. After experiencing elective art courses, Blane shifted her focus and realized art and illustration was the correct path.
“Most of my work ends up answering the question ‘What would this feeling look like if you could see it?’” Blane takes intense, everyday emotions and visualizes “ the feelings’ texture, shape, and color, or how the light hits it when it moves.” Using a mood board, Blane pieces together features from one source with another to find the right way to tell a story. “There is always a human figure or face in all of my work, as I am endlessly fascinated by, and dedicated to, the interiors of the human experience.” Recently, Blane has been inspired by comics to amplify a narrative twist to her work allowing accessibility to her visual stories.
Blane had work in “SKATE” at Mirus Gallery; a group show curated by @WonderlandSF with over 100 artists and all the work is on skateboard decks
